Dell Vostro 3350 Bios

Hi chermesh, have a look here webcam driver for dell vostro - Dell - Search - All Dell.Com efforts to configure my win7 on a Dell laptop (Vostro 3500) to identify its internal webcam failed. Any suggestion or del drivers, but none worked. Reference will be appreciated. Find system alerts, service events, top solutions and more to help identify and learn to resolve issues. Karl, I have Dell Vostro 3350 same as you. I try to update BIOS but I can’t. System running on different system. And Only Cancel Button appear. I download BIOS and then running compatible on windows 8 also not worked. Now, I disable AMD display change winth intel no blank screen but the resolution is limited.

You have a task to image a brand new laptop that came from the vendor preloaded with the latest Ubuntu Linux but you want to run a Windows OS instead for the user. As you may know, some mid-size to large environment already have some sort of procedure in place to install many instances of Windows OS to different devices (Desktop, Laptop, Mobile) depending on your bandwidth speed.

Before you can download the image onto the laptop, you would need to configure the BIOS to boot utilizing PXE (Preboot Execution Environment) by having your laptop connected (wired) with network cable (CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, etc).

When the laptop runs the full cycle of booting… you’ll get Ubuntu! ye…! no, not really.

How do we go about by getting rid of Ubuntu Linux? Read on…

Step 1
As the laptop reboot or boots up, as soon as you see the Dell logo press ‘F2’ (Preparing to enter Setup).

At this point you will see the Settings, making changes on this panel is critical on the behavior of the device… very careful!

Step 2
Expand on (+) Secure Boot.

Under Secure Boot Enable -> By default is ‘Enabled‘, we want to ‘Disabled‘ Secure Boot feature -> Click Yes to confirm.

Step 3
Under General which is already expanded -> Click ‘Advanced Boot Options’
Under Advanced Boot Options, by default is uncheck.
Check mark ‘Enable Legacy Option ROMs

Step 4
Still under General -> Click on ‘Boot Sequence
Under Boot Sequence by default ‘UEFI‘ is selected -> Select ‘Legacy‘ instead

Step 5
Reboot the device and press ‘F2’ again as soon as you see Dell logo.

Step 6
Under General -> Click on ‘Boot Sequence

On this windows you can uncheck the components that you don’t need by unchecking them. But notice that Onboard NIC is at the bottom of the list in the right; we want to bring it to top. Highlight Onboard NIC and with the up arrow click four (4) times, so now when your laptop boots up and you have connected the CAT cable to the NIC (Network Interface Card) the laptop should look for the image server and start the process of imaging the device.

The image above shows the device trying to connect to the image server

Step 7 (Troubleshoot)
What if when the laptop boots up it doesn’t work and you’ll see a diagnostic windows searching for the OS, then what?

You would need to go back to BIOS by pressing ‘F2’ and Expand (+) System Configuration and under System Configuration -> Click on ‘Integrated NIC‘ and made sure ‘Enabled w/PXE‘ is selected.

I have a 1536 that I thought had a dead motherboard. I bought a 1537 motherboard, T9600 CPU & a CPU fan & heatsink. Finally all the parts showed up & I got it installed. Unfortunatly all this new hardware & still same problem. When you turn it on the media lights flash on & then off & the DVD drive makes some noise. The display doesn't turn on & no HDD activity. I know the 4G of DDR2 is good & the HDD is good as I tested them in another laptop. Any help would be helpful. I would think that I would get some HDD activity ( noise & HDD light ) if the display was dead.

Dell Vostro 3550 :: When Turn On Laptop Loud Beeps Play

Feb 9, 2013

I bought a Vostro 3550 almost one year ago. About two weeks ago, most times I turn on the laptop, some loud beeps play (probably some warning beeps), but now, those beeps still make their presence, in lower intensity, during the usage of the machine. It is really irritating. I do not have a clue about what to look for or what it can be.

Dell Vostro 3550 :: Fingerprint Reader - Biometric Devices Applet Not In Control Panel - Windows 7

Jan 3, 2015

Because of a virus, I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I have gotten everything else working except the fingerprint reader.I have installed the Validity Fingerprint Reader driver from the Dell Support site. The fingerprint reader shows up in the Device Manager. However, the Biometric Devices applet doesn't appear in the Control Panel.
I tried letting Windows update detect the fingerprint reader. It installed a driver for a Synaptics device. This was enough to get the Biometric Devices applet to appear in the Control Panel. However, when I tried to configure the fingerprint reader, I got an error saying no fingerprint management software was installed. I have seen lots of posts online directing me to validityinc.com for drivers or the DigitalPersona software, but Validity Inc. seems to have gone out of business. The DigitalPersona software is available on the Dell Support site for my service tag.
I have even tried installing the Windows 8 Validity Sensor Driver for my laptop, but though it successfully installs, it produces the same results.

Dell :: E1505 Not Booting: Suspect Dead Motherboard

Feb 23, 2009

After a night away from town, leaving my laptop on as I usually do, came back to find a black screen with computer still running. I suspect Windows Update ran and had trouble with something. Powered off, turned back on, and the startup hung as the OS was loading.
Safe mode said the hang was at crcdisk.sys (I searched for this on the internet, but was not able to do much with it, as will soon be seen). I got my Vista installation CD and tried to boot from it, but it would not -- not even if I removed the hard drive from the computer. A friend had a similar laptop, and we exchanged hard drives; his would not boot in mine, but mine would in his (all data intact). I tried reseating the RAM;
no good. Another friend lent me a Ubuntu boot cd, which also did not complete loading. Long story short, I can't get anywhere where I can do anything meaningfully useful. I can't get to a command line to run chkdsk, or to the internet to flash my BIOS, or to a text editor to write papers for school. The people I've talked with say probably the motherboard is bad.
I was able to get to an unhelpful IT fellow for a few minutes, and he was able to boot Windows 98 from CD, but he didn't let me do anything, or have the CD. I'm going to try to find one and see what I can do from it ...

Acer Aspire 5552-5898 :: Not Always Booting And Motherboard Won't Hold Date

Nov 30, 2014

I have a 4 year old Aspire 5552-5898 which is having issues ..
First issue is that the Laptop doesn't always boot. When this happens, the power button will light, the fan will spin, the HDD will start, but the screen stays black. Sometimes the PC will restart but the same thing will happen. Usually when this happens, if you hold down the power button, the laptop will power down, only to start up again. The only way to end this cycle is to unplug the machine and pull out the battery. Also of note this seems to happen 100% of the time if the machine is not plugged in, and about 50% of the time when it is.
The next issue occurs when the machine does actually boot. I HAVE to enter the bios because it never holds the date. I thought this could be a CMOS battery issue, but even after replacing that, the problem persists. After entering the date, and saving and exiting, the machine will boot into windows just fine.

Dell :: Replacing Vostro 1400 Motherboard?

Mar 22, 2009

I'm wondering if you guys can help me find a few resources to purchase/install a new motherboard on my Vostro 1400. One day out of the blue, the thing stopped charging.
I had the charger replaced, as the charger itself was still under warranty, but the system has been out of warranty since last August, which makes getting help from Dell a ver trying experience.
I was given the choice of either extending my warranty for $257 for 1 year, $317 for 2 years (yeah right!), or $358 for a one off repai

Dell Vostro 1510 :: Gray Screen On Booting Using XP

Jan 8, 2015

I now have a grey screen on booting and it is trying to reboot itself. It started with lines then dots. I managed to boot OK once after this but now just a grey screen. I believe I have managed to start diagnostics pressing Fn while starting as I heard beeps which kept repeating until I pressed Y, yes, I heard the sounds, I guess. But I can only see a grey screen so do not know the results of the tests. There are no beeps or diagnostic lights staying on or flashing to tell me anything. I had this problem before but cannot remember what I did if anything to remedy it.

Meaning of Unable to update BIOS on Vostro 430?

A lot of users experience difficulties in installing Windows software updates. Most of the time, the update error message doesn’t tell you anything helpful to fix the issue. One the most common update error is “Windows could not search for new updates” plus an error code “80240442”. Updates are important as they deliver hotfixes, security patches and other improvements. Therefore, it is vital to install them when they are available.

Microsoft has streamlined the update process in the recent versions of Windows. However, this does not mean that update errors are totally out of the picture especially with issues relating to compatibility.

Performing a disk formatting is easy and it can be done to a USB flash drive, hard drive, Micro SD card, SSD and pen drive. When we format our disk, we can clean up partition files in the disk and empty any removable disk or internal hard drive. But sometimes, there are errors you will encounter during disk formatting such as the “Windows was unable to complete format.” This problem may happen due to one of the following factors:

  • The drive is physically damaged
  • The drive is empty
  • The drive is write protected
  • The drive has virus infection
  • The drive has bad sectors

Causes of Unable to update BIOS on Vostro 430?

Dell Vostro 3350 Bios

It is important to always run a system diagnostic scan when Windows Updates fail to download or install in order to pinpoint the root cause of the problem. Microsoft provides a troubleshooter for Windows Update related errors that will detect the problem and most likely can automatically fix it. However, there are always these type of errors that are hard to pin down.

Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot the problem and fix it.

  1. Clear up your Temporary Files and Internet Cache and reboot.
  2. Disable your Firewall and Anti-virus software.
  3. Use the Microsoft’s Windows Update Troubleshooter to reset Windows Updates settings to defaults.
  4. Flush the Software Distribution Folder.
  5. Reset the Catroot folder.
  6. Boot in Clean Boot State and run Windows Update again.

When you encounter a Windows Unable to error during disk formatting, do not assume that your disk or internal drive is faulty. There are still several ways you can fix the problem. Once you have tried all the solutions and nothing works, you can conclude that your drive or disk is permanently damaged.

One solution is to us a Windows Disk Management Tool found in Windows My Computer. Select the indicated drive and hit Format. Delete any partitions in the drive prior to formatting.

Another is to identify if your drive as partition or a RAW File System. If there is no partition, you need to recreate partitions. However, when your drive has a RAW File System, you need to do either of the 3 options: use Disk Management to Format, use Command Line to Format or use Partition Wizard to Format. RAW drive is a partition that has not be formatted and may cause the errors. You can fix the RAW drive using one of the 3 formatting options.
